Oklahoma!

I was fortunate enough to be asked to tag along on a long weekend trip to Oklahoma recently. Aside from getting some much-needed fresh air, it was nice to get the chance to exercise my nature pitcher-takin’ skills. Again, one of those moments where a wide-angle lens would really come in handy. Perhaps even a telephoto, as we saw some deer in a meadow (literally) and were too far away to get a good shot….

Behind the Masquerade

Behind the Masquerade

Just thought I might include some photos from the aftermath of my ‘Masquerade’ shoot. For the future, I have learned that acrylic paint is not the easiest thing to get off. Not so much to say about these! Hope you enjoyed nonetheless 🙂 Happy trolling!

Black and White Masquerade

Black and White Masquerade

I am officially on a black and white binge. Coincidentally, I’ve also been researching portrait photographers lately for school and find myself running into a lot of dramatic black and white portraiture that has prompted me to go on a complete binge this week. After being flooded with all this inspiration, I walked up to my roommate, asked her to be my model, and proceeded to my portrait studio. Or, well, ok, it was just…

Poor, Unfortunate Photographs

Poor, Unfortunate Photographs

As I near the end of the California posts, I’m feeling sad for all the unfortunate little photographs that haven’t fulfilled their destiny just yet. Sadly, they must remain in the Lightroom womb until I decide they have a time and place to be posted. Or is it Lightroom crib? Have I mentioned it’s slightly weird to think of photographs as babies? Please don’t judge me. This second to last set of photos comes from…

If you’re going to San Francisco

If you’re going to San Francisco

…make sure to wear a jacket. I took a breathtaking but chilly sunset cruise upon arrival in San Francisco last week and was unfortunately stubborn enough to not bring along a jacket for the brisk bay air. So, if you go, seriously, take a jacket. I actually spent the entire week in California and got the chance to visit quite a few places. However, I have literally hundreds of photos so I’ll split the posts…

My Favorite Photos of 2011

My Favorite Photos of 2011

As the year draws to a close, I’m reflecting on all the great photos from this year and… well, you know, our impending doom. The news told me we’re all going to die the following year so it must be true. Anyway, before we begin the countdown to all the morbid festivities, I thought it might be neat to look back at what I think are the best and most memorable photos of the year….

The Obligatory Christmas Post

The Obligatory Christmas Post

Just wanted to do a short post to wish everyone a happy holiday! It’s officially the eve of Christmas, so hopefully you’re all with your families, enjoying their company and perhaps… a little spiked eggnog? If you’re unlucky enough to be at the airport, or even worse, the mall (cue Psycho theme), hopefully you’ll make it out with most of your mental health intact. Anyway, serves you right for waiting until the last minute. Just…

A Foggy December Morning

A Foggy December Morning

It is officially December! And that means a change in weather. Hopefully. I woke up to a very cold and foggy morning today and thought I should seize the opportunity for a photo, since we don’t get too many of those in my neck of the woods…anyway, what I ended up with is the photo above. The shot looks decent, but it really makes me wish I had a wide-angle lens! Like I mentioned before,…
