Black and White Masquerade

I am officially on a black and white binge. Coincidentally, I’ve also been researching portrait photographers lately for school and find myself running into a lot of dramatic black and white portraiture that has prompted me to go on a complete binge this week.

After being flooded with all this inspiration, I walked up to my roommate, asked her to be my model, and proceeded to my portrait studio. Or, well, ok, it was just my bathroom. But alas! I have a white shower curtain and lamps so I made it work. Although I experimented with some black acrylic paint, I took mainly close-ups. I plan on shooting other ideas I have for black and white photos later this week.

Oh, the horror! It’s hard to get thrilled about getting acrylic paint slapped all over your face, but as you can see, my roommate took it fairly well.

The photo on the right reminds me of Psycho for some reason… Anyway, special thanks to my lovely and courageous roommate for helping out!
