It’s beginning to look a lot like… well, Christmas. Which means we not only get the insurmountable joy of freezing our butts off in 30 degree weather, but we also get to spend the year’s hard-earned money on gifts for all the lovely, greedy people around us.
Okay, okay, so they’re not all that bad. I’d actually be lying to you if I said I didn’t enjoy Christmas. I love Christmas! But if you’re anything like me, it’s quite possible that you waited until the very last minute to get some gifts. But alas! You still have time to order some awesome cameras and accessories online. So instead of marathoning around the city and scrounging through bins and bins of holiday super sales until your fingers are numb, dash on over to Amazon and take a look at these great gifts that won’t break the bank or indirectly cause frostbite. All totally useful, reasonably affordable, and available online so those buns of yours will stay toasty warm.
1. Canon Powershot ELPH 100 HS
This convenient pocket-sized digital camera not only takes great photos, but also shoots video in full 1080p HD. The 4X optical zoom, wide angle lens, and slow-motion video capabilities make it a super steal for the price.
With the plethora of gigantic, cumbersome camera bags out there, the FlexArmor comes as a sigh of relief. It can house several brands of DSLR and lens, but still fits perfectly inside your suitcase, purse, or backpack. However, make sure and read the compatibility list, as I discovered it doesn’t fit the 60D or 5D Mark II.
If you’re looking for something more comprehensive, that’ll fit most of your gear at a reasonable price and size, this bag from Canon is a good buy. It’ll keep a camera body, 3 to 5 lenses, and a few accessories safe. It also has water-repellant nylon fabric and straps for a tripod.
I bought this almost a year ago and it has served me even better than expected. The 5 different 43″ reflectors come in a compact bag that folds up for easy carrying. Whether you’re shooting video or photography, they come in handy by providing better control in all sorts of lighting situations.
If you’re super-strapped for cash nothing beats getting your favorite photographer an extra memory card. We always need them! Transcend has yet to let me down, so it’s what I continue to use. If you can afford a little extra, the 16GB is only $10 more.
Happy holiday shopping!
