Happy Wednesday! I’m so excited to share my experience at the Taste of Dallas this past weekend! This post is done in partnership with Jeep, but all opinions are my own. Thanks for reading! //
I’d be lying if I told you I’ve never had dreams of driving through the open desert in a Jeep Wrangler. Top down, hair flying, camera precariously strung cross-body, just cruising along. Sounds INCREDIBLE. I’m (of course) all for extremely photogenic adventures and I think you’d be hard-pressed to find someone who wouldn’t find at least a little bit of joy in this fantasy.
But that’s what is so special about Jeeps – they inspire you. They incite fantasies about desert road trips and camping in the mountains. They fuel your appetite for adventure. Owning one is the best possible excuse to just get out there. So when Jeep reached out about a possible collaboration recently, I couldn’t say YES! fast enough.
Last weekend Jeep held an event at the Taste of Dallas called Camp Jeep – it’s basically an interactive track that let’s you hop in any of Jeep’s new cars and witness their off-roading capabilities first hand. When I first arrived, I saw a slew of Jeeps maneuvering around giant bumps and going up and down a set of steep inclines. The first thing it reminded me of was a rollercoaster, because some of these inclines were crazy!
Nevertheless, I got in line to get inside of one. We got a turn at the Jeep Compass first, and I was seriously impressed with how well it did! I think when most people think of Jeep and insane off-roading scenarios, the Jeep Wrangler comes to mind (I told you about my fantasy, right?). However, the other cars in their new lineup can really hold their own. Both the Compass and the Grand Cherokee tackled all the inclines, including this challenging ‘Articulation’ setup shown below.
On our second go-around we hopped into the Wrangler, and of course, it ended up being my favorite! This car just makes you want to go somewhere. Seriously, anywhere. I would’ve been quite happy just to drop everything and leave for a road trip right then and there.
Stopping by Camp Jeep was definitely one of my favorite moments from Taste of Dallas! We had such a blast getting to see these cars in action. I was very pleasantly surprised at how smooth all the vehicles performed, also. You’d think looking at these photos that inside the car would be extremely bumpy – but Jeep has done a great job in ensuring that the cars absorb most of the impact, not you!
If you’re local to Dallas and want to experience Camp Jeep for yourself, they’re setting up this fun event again at Grapevine Mills Mall, Saturday June 17th and Sunday June 18th. I’ll provide details below. Everything is completely free and you can try out all the different Jeep vehicles! Would also be a fun Father’s Day treat if you don’t have anything planned yet 🙂
