Christmas came early this year and I managed to get my hands on some fun new gadgets…and my collection is complete! Steve Jobs would be proud.
Anyway, thought I would share a few thoughts on apps that I think are just delightfully awesome.
To begin, I suppose I should mention I got this fun Rebecca Minkoff case at TjMaxx for $20. If you are in need of a case and don’t want to blow $60 on one, check out TjMaxx or Ross; they have a limited selection but it’s worth it if you find one you like! If, however, you’re clumsy and prone to dropping your phone in the toilet because you like to multitask, I would recommend spending the extra dough on something sturdier. The phone is an iPhone 4S, by the way, which I got fo’ cheap since everyone is buying the iPhone 5. Thumbs up for bargain shopping!
Okay, so being a photographer I have to say, by far, my favorite app on the iPhone is instagram! Cellphones today come equipped with such nice cameras that I don’t think I’ll ever bother with my old point-and-shoot again. Instagram is free and comes with a ton of great filters for your photos. I’m a little obsessed.

Second is an app I’ve been using for a while on the iPad, but I have to advertise it because it is literally that AMAZING. I listen constantly to music, so when I found songza I was ridiculously excited. They’re like Pandora but way better! Create an account and listen 24/7, without audio ads, and create playlists of music you like. They also have a great concierge option that suggests playlists based on your tastes. I’ve been using it for several months now and they always manage to get the mood right. It’s available as an app or you can visit the actual website HERE.
Third and final app I’ll recommend is ness – it’s a dining guide, like yelp, but it gets to know your tastes with your ratings of restaurants and recommends new places to go based on those ratings. Check it out HERE.
There are tons of apps out there that are awesome; these are just a few that stood out to me. Hope you enjoyed!
